Dog tags (ID-bricka)

Today my Swedish dog tag arrived! Everyone born after 1960 gets these to use in war or when war threatens! Mummy says that most people don't know where theirs are as Sweden doesn't play much war.

Yesterday morfar (mummy's daddy) came to visit. I was out driving in my pram and he came looking for me in his big car. He was so smart that he found me and we played lots of games with tennis balls and building bricks. I get to see him again on Friday when we are going to Skellefteå for my Aunt Sara's Wedding. I have never been to a wedding before. I wonder what happens! More on that next week.

Learning my Australian animals

Here I am learning my Australian animals. I have not seen any in the garden yet, so I have to use the coasters mummy and daddy got as a wedding present. There are six animals with very funny names! I have been learning them since I was very little as I have colourful mobile with these animals as well.

I like presents (even if they are not mine!)

Daddy got a birthday present from Uncle Paul, Aunty Tamsin, Lara and George in the post yesterday. It is super cool! It makes light patterns on the wall and ceiling! FUN FUN FUN! (Oh....daddy liked it too).

Computer temporarily rescued

Since my computer broke this weekend we had to mend it. After living with Jarmo for a couple of years Kirk had some ideas. We also inherited some wood from Jarmo that could be used. Wonder how long this construction will last?!

Today we have been swimming again, Noel loved it as usual. After swimming and sleeping we went to see Kajsa and meet her rabbits Wilma and Matilda. Noel was not sure about the rabbits.
In fact he is not sure about animals at all, unless they are on TV. He liked looking at the rabbits as long as they were not moving. When they moved he jumped onto mummy or daddy.

We went shopping!

Today we went shopping at Strömpilen. Noel was looking for a wedding present for his auntie Sara and uncle Chrille. Very difficult, in the end we bought some table mats for ourselves instead. Noel had lots of fun walking in the shopping centre and listening to the music of a band trying to make people go to Skellefteå for their holidays.

Jenny's computer broke last night and we are working hard on temporarily mending it. The screen fell off the laptop so some wood and tape will hopefully rescue the situation for a week or two.

We also have a snow storm today. Kirk has been clearing the snow off the driveway and made a path around the house so the pram can be pushed to the deck where Noel usually has his afternoon nap.

Happy Birthday Uncle Godfather Paul

Today is also my Uncle Godfather Paul's Birthday so I decided to to learn about English culture and watch Tellytubbies. It was very different to how I remember England or perhaps Manchester is just very different from the rest of England. Happy Birthday Uncle Godfather Paul.

Helping daddy clean

Today I am helping daddy clean. He is working with Niklas today at home so I thought I should help with the house work especially as I had just thrown lots of rice around the living room....let's hope I caught them all. Soon we are off to ICA-Maxi to buy lots of food :) I like food. Today I had fish fingers and some black pudding! Super-yummy

Dopdagen / Christening Day

Today is an extra special day. It is a year since I was baptized. I got cards from Church and my Godmother. She also bought me a lovely present. (Godfather were is the card and present? Dad said something about them being in the post just like Lara's cards and presents!!) Mum knows how much I like candles so she lit my Christening candle this evening and that was really really very very exciting!

Daddy gets distracted....

this morning I got my favourite DVD on before breakfast. Then once mummy had gone to work and daddy was in the kitchen and I knew he was distracted, I grabbed my porridge bowl from the table and continued to eat watching TV....this I know is very naughty, but it is fun being naughty isn't it?

Happy smiles!

When Daddy stays at home he gets to see me smile! I use this trick to get what I want...and normally I do. Here I am convincing dad that I want to watch my favourite DVD and that he should stop eating breakfast and put it on immediately!

Relaxing after my swimming class

After my swimming class on Sunday, Mum and Dad took me to IKSU's restaurant for lunch. We decided that I should eat some healthy food so it was lettuce. As you can see I am much better at eating healthy food than unhealthy food like semlor. Swimming class was extra good this week as I was the first into the pool. I jumped all by myself from the side. Luckily my swimming teacher was in the pool so I didn't have to swim far on my own. I practised swimming between Mum and Dad on my own. It was cool!

Baking

Having tasted Semlor Noel decided that he just had to make some. I wonder if these are a going to be a present for our wedding aniversary on Monday or for eating when his mormor and morfar visit tomorrow? Either way he looks much better than the naked chef (nakna kocken), aaah how cute!

Today was extra exciting for Noel. He spent some time being looked after by his Uncle Luke while we worked. Normally Noel gets to play in Kirk's office when we are both working. Today, however, this was not possible. Kirk had to be the serious academic and Jenny had to be at school.

Semlor!

Semlor = YUMMY!
Semlor are the traditional Swedish Shrove Tuesday bun. Here there are no pancake races.

Noel decided it was time to practice eating semlor a couple of weeks in advance of Shrove Tuesday (fettisdag) to get the technique right. As you can see, he enjoyed them, but he has to work on finding his mouth.

Kirk's Birthday

Today is Kirk's birthday. Noel woke him up at 06:15 and came soon afterwards with his mummy to give daddy a present. It was a sandwich maker to use on the fire. Kirk had see only the other week in the outdoor shop, but as usual, had forgotten all about it and couldn't work out what it was in the present! Then to make sure that Kirk had a really good day Noel spent the day with him. After some play at home, Noel took Kirk to his office where he played with Uncle Erik and Uncle Fredrik. Noel thought it very wierd that daddy spent an hour with Erik throwing things in a big green cart! After Kirk and Noel got home, Noel helped Kirk with the cooking...Noel likes Pesto! Jenny then came home from work and the dentist and gave Kirk some hand-made chocolates...she had no holes ;) Then as it was -18 degrees, we defrosted the freezer and put all the food outside for a few hours.

Tulips & Tablecloth

Yesterday we bought some lovely tulips and put in the lovely vase we got from Raija and Peter as a wedding present. Also notice the new green tablecloth. We just had to buy it in town since it reminds us of our dear Sonja-girl :-)
Even better, the table cloth is waxed which might be of great help for the cleaning up when Noel has been eating.

Winter shoes

Noel really likes his winter shoes. Or may be the fact he is realising he can tell us things, like " I want my winter shoes on", and we understand him? Another favourite is the fire place, here he is trying to tell us to light the fire. He carries the wood to the fireplace and points. If it is not the fire it is the candles, the boy is a little pyromaniac, HELP ;-)
